All Staff are DBS checked and have undertaken regular Safeguarding and prevent training, Paediatric first aid training and Food hygiene.

Woodlands has a highly enthusiastic staff team that is continuously striving to make the setting the best it can be through training and personal development, supervision and to raise standards in our approach to teaching.

Health and safety is extremely important at Woodlands, we keep all children and staff safe through our robust health and safety policies and procedures.  Safeguarding is a top priority that we continuously review through courses, in-house training, and policies.  To support a good understanding of safety and welfare of our children.

Practitioners are trained to understand the progression of learning. Though guided learning (scaffolding) practitioners can introduce new skills and concepts.  Practitioners model language, explain and demonstrate new ideas.  We encourage and ask open-ended questions and provide a narrative.  We promote freedom and independence, while being sensitive and understanding of each child’s individual needs.  Practitioners co-regulate with children until they are able to self-regulate independently.
